Hello and welcome to Bluelaye Design Studio. Name's Charlie Lee, creator of this here studio space. I have been working as an artist for the past 8 years. This online studio is something I have built with the simple idea of having a place for my works on the www, that's pretty much the jist.
I lived in Los Angeles for a long time and being originally from the south of England, blue skies and that bright orange fire ball that glow’s above wasn't something i saw so often. So Los Angeles became somewhat of a second home to me. I dived right into the creative idiosyncratic and eccentric city it is known for and learned from it.
Years of studying and traveling under my belt, I got right to it and designed this here site. Filled it up with some recent works and what not, and boom, this is where you are right now, but enough reading, scroll down a little or click the portfolio tab to get to the nitty gritty of this website. Branding, corporate identity, advertising. With every new company, it needs a brand, an image, an identity, a visual look that will be your’s and recognisable. I will always incorporate the company’s objectives while capturing and captivating your audience, in this ever growing moving digital world.
You want to send messages and gain a real hands on approach to your business needs, then print work is highly effective and proven to bring a company static out from the desert into the light of the city. From Stationary, flyers, posters, illustrations, package design, to music album art, catalogues, menus and apparel, i've got it covered.
As well as being a fine artist, and photographer, the moving aspects of design very much has interested me all my life. Using designs and animations to tell a story, push a product, advertise and promote. I am very comfortable with the world of moving film, always learning and always wanting evolve as an artist. Short artistic motion graphics seem to be my thing.
So here we are again, hope you liked the works. I suppose a little more about me. Well first to the left you can see ME. quick pic i took January 2016. I usually sport a beard, nothing too funky, just rubble stubble. You can see I have some social icons, click away, see what weird a crazy things I’m sharing around the www.
But back to Cali, for me was my eyes open moment, seeing how truly creative such a city can be, I learned a lot, I met my beautiful wife, and then got travelling again.
So after LA LA Land, I came to Europe, Amsterdam, got myself a house and office and had 2 wonderful children and started designing. Everything I do now is for them little rugrats. I had passion before, but now, WHAO, makes me more hungry to reach the top. Ok I think this gives an overall impression of me, right?
So I have a cool cozy office and a mentality in creating visual graphics and designs for the world to enjoy. I want to make this turbulent world less turbulent I guess, make and visually show the world great art and design, if i can inspire others, i would hit the nail on its noggin, oh and,
I am available for freelance work.
It's easy to get caught up in the bureaucracy of it all, so i tend to push my boundaries almost on everything. Thrusting myself mentally and physically to get something original, unique and what best suits the project.
I truly do tend to think outside that proverbial box. always when i brainstorm, sketch out or just sit and ponder on idea's, it's in the details that my creative mind always leans to that outside the box mentality.
I like to think i think differently to most, always feels that way. I tend to question life, rather than being that one to succumb to it. i don't believe in just what society teaches us, i do my own world research and get my own voice and opinion. This shows in my work and the research, attention to detail and the creative brainstorming, all executed with a different mindset. A mindset that wants to find the best possible direction.
